PhD position on Colloidal Nanoplasmonics
Applications are invited for a PhD student position, to work on an H2020 EU funded project. The research, which will be carried out at CIC biomaGUNE, in San Sebastián (Spain), revolves around the synthesis of colloidal composite nanomaterials for sensing applications.
The funded PhD thesis will focus on the Synthesis of plasmonic nanoparticles for integration in hybrid nanoparticle/polymer materials.
The work will be mainly carried out at the Bionanoplasmonics Laboratory of CIC biomaGUNE, under the supervision of Prof. Luis M. Liz-Marzán. Collaboration has been arranged with the group of Prof. Andreas Seifert at CIC nanoGUNE, related to quality control methods and process automation.
A Masters degree in a relevant area of Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Materials Science is required and experience in the fields of colloidal synthesis, nanomaterials and/or polymer synthesis is highly desirable. The position is funded for up to three years, starting no later than October 2017.
Application procedure: Candidates should submit by e-mail a C.V. and a cover letter stating why they are interested in this position and the contact details of two academics who can provide a reference to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating reference 321 in the subject.
