Yet another Science paper!

This weeks issue of Science includes a second paper by our group, this time in collaboration with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. We report the world record in optical monodispersity for gold nanorods, as a result of controlled irradiation with femtosecond lasers. This spectacular effect is explained by means of molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations. See the paper here

Paper published in Science today!

The latest issue of Science includes a collaborative paper to which our group has contributed, in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science, University of Antwerp and University of Illinois at Chicago. We report the formation of crystalline arrangements of gold nanoparticles (nanoallotropes), as a result of chemical etching after binary self-assembly at liquid-air interfaces. A wide variety of crystalline nanoparticle lattices were obtained, some of which had not been reported earlier and offer opportunities in various applications, including SERS. See the paper here
